SOULEMANE Chabi Yo dropped 25 points and grabbed 18 rebounds leading the UST Growling Tigers past the AMA Online Education Titans, 113-108, in the Philipine Basketball Association Developmemtal League at the Paco Arena Tuesday.
The Tigers improved to a 2-0 win-loss card for first place in the standings, while the Titans dropped to 1-1.
UST broke a 106-all tie with a 7-2 blast with 46 seconds left in the game. Chabi Yo sealed the win with a pair of free throws.
“Our composure was tested. Well, they are used to it because I tell them to enjoy the game and they are just sticking to the system,” Tigers head coach Aldin Ayo said in an interview.
UST’s bench outscored AMA’s, 57-22.
Sherwin Conception added 20 markers and 13 boards for the Tigers.
Joshua Munzon led the Titans with 46 points, while Frankie Johnson had 21 markers.
Up next for the Tigers are the Cignal-Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles on March 7, Thursday, 2 p.m. at the Ynares Center in Pasig City.
