THE CHE’LU Bar and Grill Revellers used a late 19-0 run to prevail over the UST Growling Tigers, 92-80, in the Philippine Basketball Association Developmental League at the Jesus Christ Saves Global Outreach gym in Quezon City Monday.

The Revellers tied Go For Gold-College of St. Benilde at fourth place and improved to a 4-3 win-loss card, while the Tigers remained at second behind a 5-2 slate.

UST was trailing, 66-70, in the payoff period when Che’lu erupted a 19-0 run, capped by a fadeaway shot from Rey Suerte to put the game out of reach.

“May ginagawa kaming bago na makakatulong sa sistema. We are investing in different kinds of plays kaya ganoon ang naging result kanina. I am giving opportunities for other players kasi,” Tigers head coach Aldin Ayo told the Varsitarian.

The Revellers managed to convert 33 points off UST’s 30 turnovers.

Suerte led Che’lu with 27 points, while Gab Dagangon added 17 markers.

Sherwin Conception scored 24 points for the Tigers.

  • UST will next face St. Clare College on May 16, Thursday, 4 p.m. at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
