THE ADAMSON University Junior Lady Falcons handed the UST Junior Growling Tigresses their first loss in the second round of the UAAP season 82 girls’ basketball tournament, 70-64, at the Paco Arena Saturday.
UST’s efforts for a comeback were not enough to overcome Adamson’s 8-point lead entering the final quarter.
Junior Tigress Erika Danganan’s triple evened the score at 58-all deadlock in the final three minutes, but Adamson held on for the win.
The Junior Lady Falcons converted 33 points out of UST’s 35 turnovers.
The Tigresses outrebounded Adamson, 61-55, but failed to take advantage.
Danganan’s double double performance spearheaded UST’s attacks with 25 points and 11 rebounds while Claudine Santos came up with 20 points.
Joan Camagong led Adamson with 19 points and 13 rebounds while Crisnalyn Padilla added 19 points.
UST will face De La Salle Zobel on Feb. 15, Saturday, 9 a.m. at the same venue. Jasmin Roselle M. Monton
