THE UAAP board announced on Tuesday that its decision on the Growling Tigers’ Sorsogon “bubble” would be released on Sept. 3.

The board met with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Department of Health (DoH) and the Games and Amusement Board (GAB) on Tuesday to discuss supposed violations of quarantine protocols by the UST men’s basketball team, which held a training bubble in Sorsogon.

“The meeting was an important step towards the resolution of these issues that concern student-athletes of UAAP member-schools,” UAAP’s official statement said.

UST and the National University (NU) presented a report to the UAAP board, sources said.

UAAP’s statement acknowledged the efforts of UST and NU in resolving the issues.

UST’s Sorsogon “bubble” training led to the removal of former captain CJ Cansino and the departure of team members Brent Paraiso, Rhenz Abando, Ira Bataller and Jun Asuncion from the Growling Tigers.

The NU Lady Bulldogs volleyball team is also under investigation over supposed violations of quarantine protocols. Malic U. Cotongan
