RESIGNED UST coach Aldin Ayo will be banned “indefinitely” from the UAAP for conducting training for the Growling Tigers in his home province of Sorsogon despite the pandemic, the league’s board announced on Wednesday.

The board cited UST’s finding that Ayo “endagered the health and well-being of the student athletes under his charge when he conducted the training during a government-declared state of emergency.”

As a consequence, he is banned “idenfinitely from participating, in any capacity, in all UAAP events and UAAP-sanctioned activities,” the board said.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) is also investigating the possible liability of UST and its officials over the Sorsogon “bubble.”

Ayo earlier resigned after spending two seasons with the Tigers, who went all the way to the finals last year. Rommel Bong R. Fuertes Jr.
