The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) will host games at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion (QPav) on Wednesday, July 5, as part of the league’s “PBA on Tour” pre-season tournament.

Games will kick off at 5 p.m. with the Northport Batang Pier taking on the NLEX Road Warriors, followed by a match between Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Meralco Bolts at 7:30 p.m.

The halftime and in-between game performances will be spearheaded by the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe and the UST Yellow Jackets.

The games will be accessible to the general public, and attendees will be expected to strictly adhere to campus health and safety protocols, UST Secretary General Fr. Louie Coronel, O.P. said in a circular.

General admission tickets are available for P250, while lower box and patron tickets are priced at P350 and P450, respectively. Tickets can be purchased at the IPEA office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until July 5.

The entire revenue generated from ticket sales will be contributed to the university’s program for student-athletes, UST athletics director Fr. Rodel Cansancio, O.P. said.

“The event can contribute a lot to the welfare of the Thomasian student-athletes. It shows that PBA considers UST as their partner in their advocacy to bring entertainment to the Filipino people by bringing quality basketball games,” he said.

According to Cansancio, the event could serve as a much-needed break for student-athletes after UAAP Season 85, and it offers an opportunity for them to witness their idols playing basketball up close.

Aside from UST, the PBA on Tour will showcase games in multiple locations, such as Pasig, Dumaguete City, Bulacan, Batangas and Quezon.
