AFTER missing the Golden Tigresses’ elimination-round ender against the Ateneo Blue Eagles last Saturday, UST co-captain Tacky Tacatac will be available for Game 1 of their semifinals series against the UP Fighting Maroons on Wednesday.

In a message to the Varsitarian, Tacatac said she was now healthy and ready to play after a bout with the flu.

“Thankful ako kase magaling na ako at makakabalik na ako to help the team for tomorrow’s game at sa mga susunod pa na laro,” she said.

“Lahat ng miyembro ng team namin talaga ngayon kailangan healthy, so bawal na talagang magkasakit lalong lalo na crucial na ang mga remaining games namin kaya kailangan naming alagaan ang aming kalusugan.”

UST head coach Haydee Ong on Saturday said Tacatac was under the weather and had to rest during their game against Ateneo as she already sat out for practice the day prior. The UST veteran had tested negative for Covid-19.

“It is our hope that she will be able to play in the Final Four, as we need her offense and defense to help our team to win,” Ong earlier told the Varsitarian.

Tacatac finished the elimination round as the third leading scorer for the Tigresses in 13 games played, averaging 10.31 points per game on  34.27 percent shooting from the field. She also averaged 1.69 steals per outing.

The Tigresses will face the Fighting Maroons tomorrow at the SM Mall of Asia Arena at 11 a.m.
