UST HEAD coach and Northport Batang Pier team manager Pido Jarencio figured in an altercation with Thomas Robinson after a heated clash against the NLEX Road Warriors in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The two engaged in a shouting affair as both teams headed to the dugout after Northport’s 112-104 loss to NLEX.

Jarencio issued threats to the NLEX import until security, his team members and PBA commissioner Willie Marcial intervened and escorted him back to the Northport locker room.

An angry Jarencio, captured by PBA media, shouted at Robinson:

“You are one bullet; I’ll shoot you later! Happy New Year and Merry Christmas!”

The incident originated from a collision when Northport’s JM Calma delivered a shoulder hit to Robinson at the 5:15 mark of the third quarter.

Northport team governor Erick Arejola stepped in to defuse the tension, but during the broadcast, Jarencio could be seen directing words toward Robinson.

“They just upset,” Robinson said about the altercation. “They lost, we won.”

Jarencio was not able to comment on the incident as he immediately left the venue after the game. The Varsitarian has tried contacting Jarencio’s camp for comment but has yet to receive a response as of posting time.
