A HEADER by Lady Archer Alisha del Campo allowed the De La Salle University to force a draw against the UST Lady Booters, 2-2, in the UAAP Season 81 women’s football tournament at the Circulo Verde football pitch Saturday.
The Lady Booters now hold a 1-1-1 win-draw-loss card while the Lady Archers remained undefeated with a 1-1-0 slate.
Down 1-2, del Campo netted a header in the 73rd minute off a Rocelle Medaño corner kick to equalize.
“Defensively, namomroblema ako dahil sa kaba ng mga players ko sa defense. Attacking-wise, kaya namin kaso minsan kapag counter attack ng kalaban, doon ako namomroblema dahil ‘yong confidence ng mga players ko, mababa,” UST head coach Prescila “Aging” Rubio said in an interview.
Team captain Hazel Lustan made it 2-1 for UST after a defensive lapse on La Salle in the 71st minute.
La Salle’s Khyren Dimaandal scored a tap-in goal for the Lady Archers in the 51st minute off an Irish Navara cross, before MJ Indac scored an equalizer nine minutes later for the Lady Booters.
Del Campo bottled up her attempt for La Salle in the 93rd minute against UST keeper Nicole Reyes.
The Lady Booters will wrap up the first round against the Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles on March 16, Saturday, 3 p.m., at the same venue.
