ROOKIE Miguel Mercader’s clutch header propelled the UST Golden Booters to a 1-1 tie with the De La Salle University Green Booters in the UAAP Season 81 men’s football tournament at the Far Eastern University-Diliman pitch Sunday.
Mercader pulled off an equalizer for UST after a header in the 96th minute.
“‘Yong sense of urgency ng mga bata, nangyayari na naman siya ulit after the goal ng opponent. May laro kami pero wala kaming penetration, wala kaming mga through passes at ang attempts namin, napakakonti lang,” Golden Booters head coach Marjo Allado said in an interview.
Green Booter Shanden Vergara broke the silence in the 74th minute after drilling a tap-in goal for an early advatange.
The Golden Booters rose to third place with a 2-5-1 win-draw-loss card for 11 points.
