The UST Lady Booters went scoreless and suffered their first loss against the FEU Lady Booters, 3-0, in the UAAP Season 85 women’s football tournament at the UP Diliman Football Stadium on Saturday.
UST dropped to third with four points, while FEU rose to second with six points after its second-straight win.
Regine Rebosura scored a goal in the 20th minute to give FEU a 1-0 lead at halftime.
UST remained scoreless in the second half as the FEU Lady Booters converted two more goals courtesy of Carmela Altiche in the 64th minute and Lylhanie Joy Cayabyab in the 95th minute.
“Hindi kami nagkakaintindihan. Meron kaming mga attacks pero hindi namin na-convert,” UST assistant coach Geraldine Cabrera told the Varsitarian. “Sobrang lapit ng midfield at saka opensa namin so hindi masyadong klaro ‘yung distancing kaya hindi kami nakapag-perform nang maayos this time.”
UST now has a 1-1-1 win-draw-loss record after three matches.
The UST Lady Booters will next face the Ateneo de Manila University at the same venue on March 25, Saturday, at 4 p.m.
