THE UST Golden Booters kicked off their Ang Liga Season 19 campaign in dominant fashion, crushing the FEU Tamaraws, 7-0, at the UP Diliman Football Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 27.

Kyler Escobar led UST with a hat trick after scoring goals in the 34th, 66th, and 75th minutes of the match.

Golden Booter Andrew Ramos drew first blood in the 10th minute before Escobar tapped in his first goal to give UST a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Escobar completed his hat trick in the second half, scoring two straight goals in the 67th and 75th minutes of the match for a 4-0 UST lead.

Golden Booter Patrick Baito pulled off a brace of his own, converting back-to-back goals in the 76th and 88th minutes, including a free-kick goal.

UST’s Christian Lajot scored the game-sealing goal in the 90th minute to complete UST’s domination of the Tamaraws, the UAAP Season 85 men’s football champions.

Ang Liga is an intercollegiate preseason tournament participated in by different teams from the UAAP, NCAA, and other collegiate leagues.

The UST Golden Booters will next face the Ateneo Blue Eagles at the same venue on Sept. 3, Sunday, at 4 p.m. Jan Lester E. Quinto
