THE UST Lady Booters fell short against the defending champions FEU Lady Booters, 2-1, in the second round of the UAAP Season 86 women’s football tournament at the UP Diliman Football Pitch on Saturday, April 20.

UST remained in last place with three points built on a 1-6-0 win-loss-draw record, while the finals-bound FEU topped the standings with 18 points after notching their sixth straight win.

FEU got ahead early after a giveaway goal by UST’s Nikki Marcos as she had an own goal in the 12th minute, 1-0.

UST ended the first half down by two goals after FEU’s captain Dionesa Tolentin found a hole in UST goalkeeper Lizlie Garcia’s near post in the 28th minute.

Gleydile Anonuevo tried to ignite a UST comeback after blasting her penalty past Yasmin Elauria in the 64th-minute mark, 2-1, but the Lady Booters were unable to take advantage of their chances for the rest of the match.

The also-ran UST Lady Booters will cap off their Season 86 campaign against the UP Fighting Maroons at the same venue on Saturday, April 27 at 4 p.m.
