Athletes, coaches voice out holiday wishes

UST ATHLETES often show a tough facade when it comes to fighting for their cause in the sporting arena.

But come Christmas time, these black-gold-white warriors are no different from any other individual, hoping to have their wishes fulfilled

In line with the holiday spirit, the Varsitarian asked what Thomasian athletes wanted to receive this christmas, apart from bringing pride and glory to their school.

“I wish my team will be complete in time for UAAP this coming February.” -Luville Dato-on, Female Tracksters team captain

“To play together with teamwork.” -Janine Ong, Tigresses

“I want to be with my family in Rizal.” -Ana Paghubasan, Softbelles Season 71 Rookie of the Year

“Since my twin sister Jae Marie Abuan and I have been with the Lady Booters this year, I was only able to go home to my home province of Negros Occidental once. That was after the Unigames, during the semestral break. So this Christmas, I want to be with my friends and family back home.” -Jena Ralyn Abuan, Lady Booters

“I still want to be part of the Philippine team someday to represent our country again. I also want to graduate together with my classmates and to have a job after that.” –Liane Marquez, Female Tigersharks team captain

“I wish for us to win the championship. Materially, I want to have a laptop.” -Patrick Florendo, Male Woodpusher

“I want the Nissan Skyline GT-R supercar and a necklace for Christmas.” -Martin Diaz, Tiger Paddlers

“Nothing would beat winning the UAAP championship”-OJ Clariño, Golden Booters

“I wish to be the Rookie of the Year.”-Denise Santiago, Lady Spikers

“Whose birthday is it? It’s Jesus’ right? Our dream Christmas wish is how we can give him a gift on his birthday. We want to win the “three-peat” championship-that will be the greatest thing we can offer UST. We hope that the level of our game will remain high.” -Emil Lontoc, Tiger Spikers coach

“For everyone to be together, spending time with their families. I wish that all the players would pass the second semester because the eligibility now is based on the second sem, before it was on the first semester.” -Noli Cajefe, Shuttlers coach

“I wish to be happy with my family this Christmas. For the boys ,[Golden Sox] I want them to be happy on their Christmas break. I wish that coaches in UST will also gain money.” –Jeffrey Santiago, Golden Sox coach
