THE UST TIGER Pack strayed from its usual tradition of celebrating the Thomasian athletes’ accomplishments by hosting a tribute dinner this year to 15 teams last March 26, held at the AMV College of Accountancy Auditorium.

The group of alumni athletes acknowledged the seven teams who have donned the championship trophies for UST in the recently concluded UAAP Season ’73, with which the España Army dominated by grabbing its 38th general championship title.

They group prepared the dinner in recognition of the glory that the various teams brought to their alma mater in the sport they played and also, as a tribute to the graduating players and to those who have played their final year in their respective team.

The teams recognized in the tribute dinner this year were the Tiger Cubs, the high school boys’ Volleyball, The Golden Sox, Men’s and women’s lawn tennis, Table tennis, Taekwondo, Judo and Badminton.

Tiger Pack member Paolo Rivera, who was also one of the organizers of the dinner, said that the group would also like to extend other assistance to the various athletes, especially regarding their academics.

“Tiger Pack is willing to help you, for free. Alumni athletes are willing to help you [athletes] in your academics,” Rivera said.

The group also expressed its gratitude as they were duly recognized by the Institute of Physical Education and Athletics (IPEA) as one of its alumni partners.

“We would like to thank the IPEA for recognizing us as their alumni partner,” Rivera said.
