20 March 2014, 9:10 a.m. – UST SETTLED for second place in the race for the UAAP general championship, which was won by De La Salle University for the second straight season.
The University registered a similar finish in the juniors’ division, which was ruled by the University of the East, next season’s host.
This year’s host, Adamson University officially, closed UAAP Season 76 Wednesday, awarding the overall title La Salle University at the Century Park Hotel in Manila.
Though failing to reclaim the general championship, UST produced 48 international awardees, the most number of athletes who competed abroad.
Among the awardees were Smart Gilas member Kevin Ferrer, women’s taekwondo Most Valuable Player Abi Cham, poomsae star Vidal Marvin Gabriel, Softbelle Jonalie Almonia, and Tigershark Franz Marquez.
