Adamson tames, shames woeful Tigers

Nov. 9 2016, 9:00 p.m. – THE ADAMSON University Falcons secured a Final Four slot while handing the UST Growling Tigers their 10th straight, 76-61, at the Mall of Asia Arena Wednesday.

The Falcons encountered little resistance from the Tigers (3-10), who committed 26 turnovers.

Adamson broke the game wide open with an 11-2 run at the start of the last frame.

UST coach Boy Sablan said he was “happy” about the prospect of the rebuilding Tigers despite the loss

“Ngayon lang naman nabigyan ng playing time ‘yung mga batang ito, na mai-prove ‘yung sarili nila,” head coach Boy Sablan told the Varsitarian.

Rob Manalang and Jerrick Ahanmisi led all scorers with 16 points apeice.

Jamil Sheriff paced the Tigers with 13 points while Kent Lao added 12 markers.

Team captain Louie Vigil and Lao sat out the entire first half due to disciplinary actions.

The Tigers will wrap up their season against No. 2-seeking Ateneo de Manila University on Nov. 12, Saturday, 2 p.m., at the same venue. Ivan Ruiz L. Suing
