Nov. 25 2016, 9:30 p.m. – THE UST Junior Golden Tigresses suffered a 29-27, 25-19, 25-22 loss against he Nazareth School of National University in Game 1 of their UAAP girls’ volleyball finals at the Adamson University gym Friday.
UST led, 18-16, in the third set before NU ignited a 7-2 blitz for the sweep.
The Junior Tigresses remain winless against the Lady Bullpups after three outings this season.
“Sa pag-atake walang problema pero hanggang ‘di nao-overcome yung mga errors, talagang makakascore yung National University. Kung baga ‘tong game one, pamigay na para sa kanila,” head coach Emilio “Kung Fu” Reyes Jr. told the Varsitarian.
NU took advantage of UST’s 29 unforced errors and scored 47 attack points.
Faith Nisperos and Princess Anne Robles anchored NU with 10 points apiece while Thea Gagate added nine points.
Reigning MVP Eya Laure chalked up 14 points while Baby Love Barbon registered 12 markers.
UST will force a do-or-die game on Nov. 27, 2 p.m., at the same venue. Jan Carlo Anolin
