THE UST Prime took home the championship in the inaugural Maestro Dance Competition at the Henry Lee Irwin Theatre in Ateneo de Manila University Saturday.
Prime reigned in the college category, beating the De La Salle University Dance Company-Street, which settled for silver.
“Sumali kami with the purpose of preparing the newcomers for next year. Gusto ko kasi munang bigyan ng exposure ang mga bago para masanay sila sa competition scene and masaya ako kasi nag-champion kaagad,” UST Prime head coach Meeko Evangelista told the Varsitarian in an online interview.
Aside from Prime, the tournament was participated by Maria Clara High School’s Classical and Cultural Dance Club, AMA Computer Learning Center’s Amixade Adrenaline Dance Crew, Street Buck and Novel Crime Philippines.
