THE UST Lady Spikers dominated the 7th Ibalong National Women’s Beach Volleyball Open Invitational 2019 in Legaspi Sunday.
Sophomore tandem Babylove Barbon and Genesa Eslapor pounded Sta Lucia Realtors’ Jackie Estoquia and DM Demontano in the finals, 21-17, 21-12.
The tandem swept Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles, De La Salle Lady Spikers and Jose Rizal University Lady Bombers in the eliminations.
The duo also drubbed Bicol in the quarter finals and Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws in the semifinals.
“Dito tinitiganan namin kung sino ‘yong makakalaban namin sa UAAP at kung ano ‘yong pattern [ng kalaban],” UST head coach Paul Jan Doloiras said.
The tandem will play in the upcoming season of UAAP, he said.
The tournament was organized by Noel Rosal, City Mayor of Legaspi and ran from August 16 to 18.
