THE UST Female Woodpushers outwitted the Adamson University Lady Falcons, 4-0, while the Male Woodpushers outlasted the University of the East Warriors, 2.5-1.5, in the UAAP chess tournaments at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion Sunday.
UST’s Maycydel Fajardo, Jamaica Lagrio, May Ann Alcantara and Vaneza Villamil vanquished Adamson’s Jellie Ann Magro, Abigail Tamundong, Bonalyn Ornido and Anne Krischa Tagayuna, respectively.
In men’s play, UST’s Julius Gonzales and Almodal outplayed Red Warrior Eliseo Budoso and Bin Ali Ali, respectively.
Male Woodpusher Brylle Gever Vinluan settled for a draw against UE’s Michael Suacillo while Edsel Vosotros bowed to Ryan Christian Bacay.
The Female Woodpushers shared the third spot with Ateneo De Manila University, tallying 30 points, while the Male Woodpushers remained solo second with 31.5 points.
The Female Woodpushers will next face the University of the East Lady Warriors while the Male Woodpushers will face the Adamson University Falcons on Oct. 26, Saturday, 1 p.m. at the same venue.
