FORMER UST Tiger Cub big man Bismarck Lina withdrew his committment to the Growling Tigers and transferred to the Fighting Maroons, UP coach Bo Perasol confirmed on Monday.

Perasol described his new recruit as “a young man with great fighting attitude and potential.”

Lina was set to join UST’s senior mens’ team after leading the Tiger Cubs to a 7-7 win-loss record, one win shy of a final four appearance, as captain in UAAP season 82.

The 6’5 center averaged 16.6 points and 10.9 rebounds per game last season.

In Season 81, Lina was part of the Mythical Five with, then, fellow Tiger Cub Mark Nonoy.

Lina was part of the controversial bubble and was also one of the first to leave the training camp alongside Brent Paraiso and former captain and, now Maroon, CJ Cansino.
