Months before the projected start of UAAP Season 84, the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) has approved the resumption of training for collegiate athletes.

According to CHEd’s new memorandum, collegiate teams will be allowed to resume their training provided that they comply with tight guidelines.

These guidelines, however, are yet to be reviewed in detail by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

With basketball one of the first sports announced for the league’s resumption, the approval of face-to-face training will be fundamental for the UST Growling Tigers.

So far, practices have been limited to online workouts, Tigers’ head coach Jinino Manansala told the Varsitarian.

UAAP basketball and volleyball games are expected to return by the first quarter of 2022. Jose Ama Alberto B. Rosario
