The UST Growling Tigers dropped their seventh-straight game in an embarrassing 30-point defeat on Wednesday against the UE Red Warriors, 81-51, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Four of UST’s seven losses were by at least 20 points.

The Tigers struggled in their shot making, converting only 18 of their 66 attempts (27.3 percent) against UE’s 42.6-percent field-goal percentage (29 out of 68). 

UE’s defense in the second quarter limited the Tigers to nine points. The Red Warriors ended the first half with a 22-point advantage, 45-23. 

UE’s Calvin Payawal scored all of his 17 points in the second half to maintain the Red Warriors lead.

The Tigers dropped to 1-7, while UE improved to 4-5 in the standings. 

Big man Adama Faye was the only double-digit scorer for UST with 23 markers.

Luis Villegas scored 16 markers for UE. 

The UST Growling Tigers will next face the Adamson University Falcons at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m.
