The UST Tiger Sands kept their unblemished record after demolishing their opponents in the UAAP Season 85 men’s and women’s beach volleyball tournament at the SM Sands by the Bay on Sunday.
UST’s tandem of Jaron Requinton and Rancel Varga dominated UP’s Dan Nicolas and Eri Eusebio in the men’s division, 21-15, 21-10, to claim their third win.
“Kahit wala pa kaming masyadong adjustments, maganda pa rin ang results namin…pero aaralin pa namin ang ilang lapses,” UST head coach Paul Jan Doloiras told the Varsitarian.
The Tiger Sands will next face the FEU Tamaraws and the Adamson Soaring Falcons on Wednesday, Nov. 23.
In the women’s division, the UST Lady Spikers thrashed the Ateneo Blue Eagles, 21-8, 21-14 in women’s play.
UST’s duo of Blove Barbon and Gen Eslapor overpowered Ateneo’s Sophia Ildefonso and rookie Yssa Nisperos.
The Lady Spikers went on a 7-0 rally to assert dominance in the first set and never looked back to complete the sweep of Ateneo.
