The UST Junior Golden Booters dropped their second straight game after absorbing a 2-1 loss against the FEU-Diliman Baby Tamaraws in the UAAP Season 85 boys’ football tournament at the UP Diliman Football Pitch on Sunday.

UST’s team captain Byron Christopher Abela scored the lone goal for the Junior Golden Booters in the 34th minute of the match.

But FEU’s rookie Selwyn Nickos Mamon responded with a clutch goal to tie the game at the end of the first half, 1-1.

The Baby Tamaraws capitalized on UST’s weak defense in the second half after Bryan Villanueva converted a goal for FEU in the 73rd minute of the match to secure their victory, 1-2.

“Ngayon, nakita namin ‘yung laro na kaya nila makipagsabayan dito sa malalakas na team. Medyo kinapos lang kami siguro in the last 15 minutes kasi kulang pa sa fitness,” UST’s assistant coach David Basa told the Varsitarian.

The UST Junior Golden Booters will next face the Ateneo de Manila University at the same venue on Sunday, Feb. 5, at 4 p.m. John Peter L. Cajayon
