Lady Booter Nathalie Absalon scored a brace to lead UST to a 2-0 victory against the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles in the UAAP Season 85 women’s football tournament on Saturday.
Absalon drew first blood in the first minute, and scored another goal in 46th minute.
Absalon provided three out of four total goals of UST in the first round.
“[S]ince natalo kami last game against FEU, inisip namin na kailangan naming bumawi,” Absalon told the Varsitarian. “Kailangan maganda ang result bago matapos ang first round para pagdating ng second round mas ganado kami maglaro.”
UST played a nickel and dime defense against Ateneo to prevent them from scoring throughout the match.
UST earned seven points from a 2-1-1 win-draw-loss record, while Ateneo remained winless after four matches.
The league has yet to announce the schedule for the second round of eliminations.
