Defending champions De La Salle University Lady Archers crushed the UST Lady Booters, 7-0, in the UAAP Season 85 women’s football tournament at the UP Diliman Football Stadium on Saturday.
La Salle, which lost its first-round encounter against UST, started its revenge game in dominant fashion, building a 2-0 lead by halftime.
The Lady Archers punished the Lady Booters with five more goals to complete the 7-0 rout of UST.
La Salle’s Angelica Teves scored a hat trick in the second half after scoring goals in the 51st, 73rd, and 92nd minutes.
Arantxa Trebol and Alisha Del Campo also converted for La Salle in the 63rd and 87th minutes, respectively.
UST rookies Christy Logastua and Gleydile Añonuevo had two wide open attempts in the 64th and 67th minutes but failed to deliver a goal.
“‘Yung nakita ko talagang factor is ‘yung nawalan sila ng gana lumaban. Medyo nag-collapse na lang talaga ‘yung depensa kasi parang nilamon sila ng aggressiveness ng La Salle,” UST head coach Aging Rubio told the Varsitarian.
The UST Lady Booters will next face the FEU Lady Booters at the same venue on April 15, Saturday, at 6:30 p.m.
