THE UST Lady Paddlers advanced to the finals of the UAAP Season 81 table tennis tournament after sweeping the University of the Philippines, 3-0, in the stepladder match at the UP College of Human Kinetics gym in Diliman Saturday.
Lady Paddler Shaeena Ronquillo gave UST an early advantage after defeating Celine Ching, 11-6, 11-6, 11-5.
UST’s Kathleen and Kathrina Tempiatura sealed the match after trouncing Lyra Duro and Jade Garcia, 12-10, 11-8, 11-3.
“We really prepared for this match para makaabot ng finals kaya naging maganda ang outcome ng laro ng mga players,” UST head coach Lorinda Wadjad.
The Lady Paddlers will try to claim the crown from defending champion De La Salle University on Oct. 15, Monday, at the same venue. with reports from Enrico Miguel S. Silvero
