UST sweeps first elimination round, tops UAAP table tennis

THE UST Tiger Paddlers extended their winning streak against the National University Bulldogs, 3-0, and the De La Salle University Green Archers, 2-1, to dominate the UAAP Season 82 table tennis first elimination round at Blue Eagle Gym Thursday.

The defending champions Tiger Paddlers remained atop the rankings with an 8-0 win-lose record.

In their singles matches versus the Bulldogs, Tiger Paddlers Paul Que and Alvin Sevilla snagged victories over Romulo Ramiro and Francis Bendebel.

UST duo Mcleen Dizon and Prince Karl Garcia overpowered NU with a 11-7, 11-7, 12-10 win in their doubles match.

Que, Sevilla and John Michael Castro also won their singles matches against La Salle.

The Tiger Paddler tandem of Dizon and Garcia however bowed to Green Archers Christian Crisostomo and Daniel Ocon, 11-9, 13-15, 11- 5, 6-11, 10-12, in the second doubles match.

The Tiger Paddlers will next face the Adamson University Falcons and University of the East Red Warriors on Nov. 16, Saturday, 8 a.m. at the same venue.
