REIGNING champions UST Lady Paddlers registered back-to-back 3-1 victories over the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons and De La Salle University Lady Archers in the UAAP Season 82 table tennis tournament at Blue Eagle Gym Saturday.
Lady Paddlers Engel Sheena Ronquillo and Sherlyn Gabisay triumphed over Lady Maroons Anna Royeca and Pauline Cabrera in their respective singles matches.
Lady Paddler tandem Kathleen Tempiatura and Ciara Derecho suffered a 5-11, 11-6, 11-7, 11-9 loss against UP’s Fellane Labian and Lyra Duro, while Lady Paddler Danica Alburo won against Mc Capatan.
In their singles matches against La Salle, Gabisay and Danica Alburo clobbered Rein Teodoro and Caressha Bernaldez, respectively.
UST tandem Tempiatura and Erika Villanueva secured a 10-12, 11-9, 14-12, 11-4, 11-8 victory against Lady Archers Kimberly Sorongon and Dominique Tan.
Ronquillo suffered a 6-11, 11-9, 7-11, 7-11 loss to Lady Archer Jehmian Go.
The Lady Paddlers will next face the University of the East Lady Warriors and Ateneo de Manila Lady Eagles on Nov. 17, Sunday, 8 a.m. at the same venue.
