UST still unblemished in UAAP table tennis

DEFENDING champions UST Tiger Paddlers remained unbeaten after defeating the Adamson University Soaring Falcons, 3-1, and the University of the East Red Warriors, 2-1, in the UAAP Season 82 table tennis tournament at Blue Eagle Gym Saturday.

The Tiger Paddlers rose to a perfect 10-0 win-lose slate, and kept the first spot in the standings.

In their singles matches versus the Falcons, Tiger Paddlers Paul Que and John Michael Castro secured wins over Paolo Monforte and John Polido.

UST duo Mcleen Dizon and Prince Karl Garcia overpowered Adamson’s Vladimir Rarama and Kent Tempiatura with a 11-3, 11-8, 8-11, 11-4 victory in their doubles match.

Tiger Paddler Alvin Sevilla however bowed to Falcon Jed Villaviray.

In their second singles game, Reymark Mabuang and Sevilla snagged wins against UE’s Justin Pacana and Sandro Cortez.

Garcia and Jushua Bismonte won their doubles match, 8-11, 11-8, 11-9, 13-11 over Red Warrior duo Karlo Muriel and Jomari Ingeniero.

The Tiger Paddlers will next face the Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles and Far Eastern University Tamaraws on Nov. 17, Sunday, 8 a.m. at the same venue.
