UST Poomsae Jins pluck 9 medals in nat’l tourney

THE UST Poomsae Jins bagged nine medals at the 2020 National CPJ Taekwondo Championships held at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall Saturday.

Former Tiger jin Rodolfo Reyes Jr., who is now an assistant coach, captured the gold medal in the authorized senior male division.

Rookie Jade Ashley Carno also brought home a gold medal while Jocel Lyn Ninobla settled for bronze in the authorized seniors female category.

Darius Venerable topped the male over-17 freestyle division with 8.54 points. Senior high school player Vincent Rodriguez settled for fourth place and a second bronze.

Veteran Nasstassja Limos won a gold with 7.66 points in her freestyle routine while Carno picked up a bronze with a 7.17 score.

Stella Yape’s 7.50 score in the juniors freestyle division gave UST another gold while Nicole Labayne landed a silver in the authorized juniors female category.

The National CPJ Taekwondo Championships is an annual tournament hosted by the Philippine Taekwondo Association.
