THE UST Taekwondo Jins bagged 19 medals in the 2021 Asian Online Open Taekwondo Championships held from July 10 to 12.

The UST team finished with a 10-6-3 gold-silver-bronze tally. 

Lady Jin Aidaine Laxa bagged a gold medal in the individual poomsae senior female event with a 7.467-point performance. 

Chelsea Xen Tacay and Stella Nicole Yape settled for silver medals in the same category. 

Tacay and Yape tallied 7.367 and 7.833 scores, respectively, in their separate competition brackets.  

UST junior Heza Serapio took home another silver while Thea Del Rosario and Aliyah Baquial settled for bronze in the individual juniors poomsae female category.      

 In the men’s division, Tiger Jin Joaquin Dominic Tuzon secured gold in the seniors individual poomsae male category.

Julius Caesar Oxina’s 7.400-point average won silver while Vincent Rodriguez placed third with a score of 7.200 in the same category.    

In the junior men’s event, King Nash Alcario’s performance snagged a gold with 7.700 points.

UST alumnus and 2019 Southeast Asian Games medalist Rodolfo Reyes Jr. also clinched a gold in the men’s under-30 individual category.

In the competition’s speed kicking event, Oxina (flyweight) and Israel Cantos (heavyweight) copped gold medals.

Miguel Alexandre Baladad and Justin Mark Agno notched silvers in the featherweight category.

Lady Jins Abigail Faye Valdez and Jasmine Kaye Maoirat also emerged victorious in their respective categories. 

Valdez (bantamweight) scored 7.233 while Maoirat (fin-fly) recorded 7.533 to win gold medals. 

UST Junior High School Jins Eljay Vista and Nicole Labayne also hauled gold medals in their respective individual poomsae junior categories. Anna Clarissa Barlam
