Three UST Poomsae Jins notched podium finishes at the Online 2021 ATU President’s Cup Poomsae Championships (G2) last Dec. 20 and 21. 

Team Philippines recorded a combined count of four medals at the conclusion of the event with a 1-1-2 tally.

Lady Jin Jocel Lyn Ninobla clinched gold with a 7.870-point performance, besting competitors from Taipei and South Korea in the individual under-30 female category.

Tiger Jin Darius Venerable finished second in the men’s freestyle over-17 individual event with 7.380 points. 

“It was a great run for us this year. Despite the pandemic, they still give a chance for us to compete like [in] this event,” Venerable told the Varsitarian

University of the Philippines’ Janna Dominique Oliva’s 7.140-point performance added another bronze in the women’s play of the same event.

UST alumnus and 2019 Southeast Asian Games medalist Rodolfo Reyes Jr. completed the country’s tally by settling for bronze in the men’s under-30 individual category.

The virtual competition was streamed on the ATU Official’s Youtube channel.
