UST leads General Championship race

WITH four titles and 110 accumulated points, UST is uncharacteristically ahead in the UAAP Season 68 General Championship race.

The España-based school could even be riding a more comfortable lead if the UAAP board decides to forfeit second-placer De La Salle Universitys basketball points after fielding ineligible cagers in the past three seasons. La Salle has already offered to return the Season 67 trophy.

Not far behind La Salles trail is the University of the Philippines with 94 points.

Golden Booters register poor showing in Ang Liga

THE UST Golden Booters have lost all chances of earning a semis berth in the Ang Liga Football Cup.

After a mediocre first-round showing, Coach Nonnoy Carpio’s wards are not doing any better in the second round, dropping three games and settling for a draw in their most recent match.

The former Ang Liga bridesmaids settled for a 2-2 draw against the Nationals last Sept. 23 at the UST Football Field.

The Golden Booters, led by Thomas Liao and Joubert Bernarte, gave the RP team a run for their money.

Helter-skelter

THE BROKEN windows allow as much air as they can manage. The floors and stairs are wet. Some of the walls are chipped and vandalized. Residents are cramped in a small space, which reeks of an overwhelming, pungent smell.

Welcome to the living quarters of the UST male athletes. The very same athletes the University expects to excel in 14 different sporting events.

Golden Booters split Ang Liga first round

AFTER the first elimination round, the UST Golden Booters are still groping for form in Ang Liga Football Cup.

Finishing with a mediocre 2-3-1 win-loss-draw card, coach Nonnoy Carpio’s squad had difficulty dealing with the departure of six key players in its lineup.

During the elimination round, the UAAP Season 67 bridesmaids and two-time Ang Liga runners-up were a far cry from their previous showing as they lacked focus and composure especially in the endgame when they broke down defensively.
