THE National University Bulldogs made quick work of the UST Tiger Spikers, 25-21, 27-25, 25-15 in the UAAP 78 men’s volleyball tournament at the Arena in San Juan Wednesday.

Last year’s runners-up came firing with 44 attack points compared with UST’s 23. The Tiger Spikers also gave away 27 easy points.

UST was at set point in the second set, 25-24, but the towering defense of NU proved too much for the Tiger Spikers as the Bulldogs scored three straight points to steal the set.

Tyrone Carodan was the lone Tiger Spiker to finish in double digits, scoring 10 points. UST rookie Manuel Medina added 8.

UST is now at sixth place with a 1-3 win-loss card, and will face Far Eastern University on Feb. 20, Saturday, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
