THE UST Tiger Spikers surrendered a tight four-setter game to the National University Bulldogs, 27-25, 23-25, 25-19, 27-25 in the UAAP Season 82 men’s volleyball tournament at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay Wednesday.

Down by a point in the fourth set, 25-24, the Bulldogs scored three straight points capped by Angelo Almendras’ service ace to snatch the lead and seal the win for NU.

Banjo Mondero’s off-the-block kill closed the third frame for the Bulldogs.

Ahead by one in the second frame, 22-21, UST banked on Joshua Umandal’s back-to-back hits and NU’s attack error to even the score at one set apiece.

From a 25-all deadlock, UST’s attack error and Bulldog Angelo Almendras’ block on Tiger Spiker Manuel Medina gave the first set to the NU.

Almendras led NU with 20 markers while Clarence Camposano added 19 points.

UST’s Umandal topped all scorers with 25 points while Lorenz Señoron chipped in 15 markers.

The Tiger Spikers will next face Far Eastern University Tamaraws on March 8, 2 p.m., at the same venue.
