Tigresses snap two-game losing skid against FEU

The UST Golden Tigresses barged back in the winning column after besting the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws in four sets, 25-23, 23-25, 25-15, 25-12 at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.

UST snapped its two-game losing streak and is now sitting at an 8-4 win-loss slate.

The Tigresses were up, 6-4, in the fourth set when they unleashed a 7-0 run to take a commanding 13-4 lead, an advantage they rode until the final score, 25-12.

The Tigress started the third canto with an 11-9 lead, when they ignited a dominant 9-2 run to extend the lead to 20-11 and clinch the rubber set.

FEU held a 16-14 advantage in the second salvo when they vaulted a 5-1 run of their own to put them ahead, 19-17. The Tamaraws then forced UST to commit several unforced errors to tie the game at one set a piece, 25-23.

The Tigresses committed 28 errors.

UST team captain EJ Laure tallied 19 points, while Yprhil Tapia scored a career-high 16 points.

Lady Tamaraw captain Sheila Kiseo tallied 11 points while Jovelyn Fernandez (10) and Chenie Tagaod (10) combined for 20 points.

UST will face the University of the East Lady Red Warriors on Tuesday, 10 a.m., at the same venue.
