The rookie-laden UST Golden Tigresses failed to secure a podium finish in the Shakey’s Super League Collegiate Conference after falling short against the Adamson University Lady Falcons, 27-25, 20-25, 25-16, 22-25, 11-15, in their battle for bronze at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, Nov. 19

With Adamson holding the upper hand in the fifth set 8-11, UST’s Pierre Abellana scored back-to-back kills and Sophia Abbu recorded a block kill to tie the game, 11-all.

Rookie setter Cassie Carballo made a costly error after being called for a stepping violation, then Adamson scored three-straight points to seal their bronze-medal finish.

UST’s “Golden Trinity” of Pierre Abellana (23 points), Regina Jurado (18 points) and Xyza Gula (12 points) each scored in double figures.

Golden Tigress Bernadett Pepito was named the league’s best libero.

The Tigresses ended their Shakey’s Super League season without veterans Eya Laure, Camille Victoria, and Ysa Jimenez. Alexandra L. Mangasar
