Medicine bags seventh Pautakan crown, ends 14-year title drought

THE FACULTY of Medicine and Surgery won its seventh championship after 14 years of title drought on the 30th year of Pautakan, UST’s premiere intercollegiate quiz contest, last March 6 at the Medicine Auditorium.

“It felt very surreal until we actually got the chance to hold on to the trophy,” said Miguel Antonio Cristobal, Medicine’s individual representative.

Senate bets sign ‘peace’ covenant

TO SHOW their commitment to clean and non-violent elections this coming May, senatorial candidates from both sides of the political fence signed a “Covenant of Peace and Honest Elections” before some 300 Thomasians and media men at the miting de avance last March 8 at the Medicine Auditorium.

Gawad Kalinga official lauds University’s CWTS program

GAWAD Kalinga (GK) commended the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) of the University as one of the most active universities in helping alleviate poverty among the depressed sectors of the Philippines.

In an interview with the Varsitarian, GK Coordinator for National Service Training Program Franz Josef Hipol said that since 2003, UST’s CWTS has been consistently responsive to their call in community development programs which include medical mission, shelter building, book donation, landscaping, mural painting, and general cleaning of baranggays.
