LUCENA Bishop Mel Rey Uy urged Thomasian priests to be the people’s guide to goodness during the opening Mass for the first UST Alumni Priests’ Association’s (ALPA) Grand Alumni Homecoming on Monday.

Uy stressed that bringing Christ’s light means sharing wisdom to others.

“Ang buhay natin ay maging ilaw sa kanila dahil tayo ang tinitingnan ng tao. We are the lighthouse ng mga tao. We are the one giving them direction. It is our mission as ministers to really point to the people […] the real light of Christ,” Uy said.

“[Sometimes,] we don’t know anymore which is the real light, dahil nga sa napakaraming information [but this is the light] entrusted to us. It is with us, ” he added.

Sixteen Benjamins or newly ordained priests took their oaths as new ALPA members.

The 1994 Class of Sacred Theology hosted the reunion, which had the theme “Courageous, creative, and faithful Thomasian for the Youth.” A. Cayongcat and M. C. L. Serquiña
