A DAY BEFORE the 2019 midterm polls, Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo urged Filipinos to choose candidates who follow the example of Jesus Christ, during a Mass for peaceful and honest elections at the Manila Cathedral on Sunday.
Stressing that the ballot is sacred, Pabillo warned the faithful not to sell their votes.
He urged Filipinos to look for leaders who show goodness in their personal lives and who are willing to make sacrifices for society.
Magiging lider ba sa inyo ‘yan?” he said.
Pabillo also urged the laity to perform works of mercy during the elections by giving counsel on the right people to vote and preventing vote-buying.
The Mass was followed by a candlelight procession of the image of Our Lady of Fatima around Intramuros for a peaceful and fraud-free election.
