THE UST Junior Tiger Spikers dethroned the Nazareth School of National University Bullpups via default in their do-or-die match in the UAAP season 80 boys’ volleyball semifinals at the Arena in San Juan Wednesday.

The Bullpups showed up 15 minutes late at the venue, giving the Junior Tiger Spikers an easy ticket to the finals.

Assistant coach Rommel Abella said the teams were given a revised schedule after their game last Wednesday. Game time was changed from 10 a.m. to 8 a.m.

“Sabi naman namin sa mga players a win is a win no matter what,” Abella said.

As of writing, the NU Athletics are meeting regarding the result of the game.

The Junior Tiger Spikers will face the top-seeded FEU Baby Tamaraws, who beat them twice in the eliminations, for the title.

“Kapag binigyan namin ng kumpiyansa ‘yung team na ‘yun, mahirap silang mahinto. So ‘yun ‘yung kailangan namin mabago,” Abella said.

The best-of-three finals will begin on Nov. 27, Monday, 2 p.m., at the same venue.
