THE UST Male and Female Paddlers are back in the Final Four after securing victories in the UAAP Season 79 table tennis competition at the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagle gym Saturday.
The Male Paddlers dispatched the University of the East, Far Eastern University, University of the Philippines and De La Salle University to solidify their place on top with an 11-0 record, despite having most of their players suffering from flu-like symptoms.
“Yesterday, nanghihina sila as in may lagnat pa, may ubo … Kaso kanina, matamlay laro nila. I hope na sa second day ng second round, maka-recover sila,” head coach Jackson Que told the Varsitarian.
In women’s play, the Lady Paddlers split their outings today en route to a 6-4 slate.
The Lady Paddlers toppled UE and Ateneo but dropped their games against FEU and La Salle.
UST will wrap up its second round campaign on Oct. 17 at the same venue.
