A THOMASIAN dance crew bagged the championship title in the high school division of the Asian Hip-hop Philippines Dance Competition, last Jan. 18 at Tanghalang Pasigueno, Pasig City.
UST Galvanize used a Japanese theme for this year’s competition, dancing to remixes of Asian songs.
“Mabilis ‘yong process ng making ng piece na ito because maganda yung work ethics ng Galvanize,” said Jan Matthew Almodovar, the team coach, told the Varsitarian.
The dance crew scored an average of 93.5, while the second-place winner got a score of 87.
“The whole process for the competition was very fast-paced and pressuring, but going through those hardships with my teammates aided us in dancing as one team, with one passion,” team captain Jonas Belgica said.
The dance crew will fly to Hong Kong on May 2020 for the finals of the Asian Hip-hop Dance Competition, where they will be facing off against other teams from Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong and Macau.
