CHRISTMAS in UST came early as a choral flashmob surprised Thomasians last Nov. 22 at the Plaza Mayor.
Accompanied by the UST Symphony Orchestra, the choral groups Coro Tomasino, Liturgikon Vocal Ensemble, UST Junior High School Glee Club, UST Education High School Glee Club, Virtuoso, Arkipella, Pharmacy Glee Club, College of Science Glee Club, The Faculty of Engineering’s One Voice, and the Chorus of Arts and Letters, sang a rendition of Ramon Jacinto’s “Pasko Na Naman,” arranged by Prof. Hermie Ranera.
Jedric Itugot, who received his degree in conducting in 2019, led the orchestra.
The University’s Facebook page posted a video clip of the flashmob, which obtained almost one million views as of this story’s publication.
The choirs also performed Conservatory of Music Dean Antonio Africa’s “Pasko sa UST.”
Thomasians, meanwhile, were treated to free ice cream the same day.
This was the third flashmob in the University. The first flashmob was done during the Music Week back in 2013, while the second was done during the Christmas concert in 2017.
