UST Publishing House authors were named Best Book awardees in the 39th National Book Awards.

Filipino-American literary and cultural critic Epifanio San Juan, Jr. won the Best Book of Literary Criticism in Filipino, the lone finalist, for “Faustino Aguilar: Kapangyarihan, Kamalayan, Kasaysayan.”

Poet Dinah Roma received the Best Book of Poetry in English for her collection “We Shall Love Poems Again.”

Anthropology professor Jayeel Cornelio won the Best Book in the Social Sciences for “Rethinking Filipino Millennials: Alternative Perspectives on a Misunderstood Generation.”

The National Book Awards is organized by the National Book Development Board and the Manila Critics Circle and recognizes the works of outstanding writers and publishers in the Philippines.

This year’s edition included titles from 2019 and 2020. Alexandra L. Mangasar
