FACULTY of Medicine and Surgery (Medicine) professor Dr. Gil Gamilla assured the UST Faculty Union (USTFU) members of the “continuing advancement” of the faculty benefits and programs after his reelection as union president for another five years.

“If possible, we’ll improve all their salary and medical benefits,” said Gamilla, who is already on his third term as president.

Gamilla added that the USTFU is considering, with the help of a developer, a housing project for its members, which he hopes to achieve during his term.

Among the newly elected union officers are: College of Commerce and Accountancy’s Gil Garcia as executive vice-president (VP); College of Nursing’s Editha Ocampo as VP internal; Conservatory of Music’s Irma Potenciano as VP external; Medicine’s Dr. George Lim as VP for labor education; Nursing’s Marcos Maramba as VP for legal affairs; and Commerce’s Atty. Jose Ngo as VP for grievance and complaints.

Other new officers elected include: College of Education’s Ma. Lourdes Medina as secretary general; College of Science’s Hidelita Gabo as treasurer; Faculty of Engineering’s Raymundo Melegrito as internal auditor; College of Architecture’s Remedios Garcia as public relations officer; and Institute of Religion’s Celso Nierra as sergeant-at-arms.
