AN ACCOUNTING supervisor, a Graduate School (GS) clerk and an Institute of Physical Education and Athletics (IPEA) office secretary were recognized as the University’s Most Outstanding Employees for 2005 in ceremonies last Feb. 10 at the Santissimo Rosario Parish church.

Certified Public Accountant Angelina Payuran of the IPEA, Irene Evangelista of the UST GS and Corazon de Guzman of the Accounting department were recognized for their “exemplary performance and unselfish dedication” to their work.

“I am happy and contented with my work (at IPEA),” Payuran said. “It feels like we’re a family here. I cannot ask for more.”

Twenty-six employees from the different departments of the University were nominated for the award. The recipients were chosen based on their years of service, work attendance, work performance, disciplinary record, peer evaluation, awards received and committee evaluation.

Meanwhile, Mr. Quirico Nagorite, head of the welding department of the Buildings and Grounds, led the loyalty awardees for his 40 years of service to the University. Nagorite started working for UST when he was only 19 years old.

Employees serving UST for the last 10 years were given certificates of recognition each, while University workers for the past 15 years received a plaque each. UST employees for more than 20 years, 25 years, 30 years, and 35 years each received a plaque and cash gifts. April Dawn Jennifer C. Adriatico
